Peter is a former Industrial Editor of The Times, and began his career in corporate communication as Director of Information at the British Technology Group. He then became Head of Corporate Communication at the Lloyd’s insurance market, his achievement was recognised by the 1997 Institute of Public Relations Award for the year’s best crisis management campaign.

From Lloyd’s, Peter moved on to become PR Adviser to the Baltic Exchange, and then into independent PR consultancy before establishing The Governance Partnership with a Times colleague, Dr Ross Davies. Peter is a specialist in developing and implementing communication strategies, most recently for Barking & Dagenham Enterprise, the principal economic regeneration agency for the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham area.

Peter’s pro bono activities include serving as a Director (and former Chairman) of the East London Small Business Centre, an enterprise agency providing business start-up support and advice across East London.

A committed champion of professional development, Peter chaired for three years the Practitioner Advisory Panel for the MSc Corporate Communication at Thames Valley University. He is also a former lay assessor for Bournemouth University’s BA degree in PR.
